Third Friday Open Mic is the most popular event at the studio. We feature a poet for the first half of the evening, followed by a short intermission (enough time for refreshments and chatting) and then the open mic begins. The open mic portion of the night is limited to ten readers, so arrive early if you’re interested in participating. Some Third Fridays we celebrate the release of the latest Paper Kite Press title by featuring the author.
All featured readers who are published (by Paper Kite or other presses) will have books available for purchase, and can be signed by the poet after the reading.
Most featured readers are at the invitation of the press, but if you are interested in being one of our features, please email us with a brief bio, some samples of your work, and the next reading where you’re performing so we can come and hear you read.
